Calligraphic Technical Considerations
The style of the calligraphic lettering is "Speedball Engrossers' Old English 'single stroke' Text" ©.
The Ten Commandments and other Holy Scriptures are drawn on various "roll" drawing papers having widths of either 18 or 24 inches or on Plexiglas © having a nominal thickness of 3/32 of an inch.
The Holy Scriptures are also drawn on letter- and document-sized standard-weight calligraphic gold parchment (24 lbs. at 8 1/2 by 11 or 11 by 14 inches).
Orientation of the work (e.g., 8 1/2 by 11 or 11 by 8 1/2) is based on the width to height ratio for the chosen scripture.
Maximum height of the capital letters is 3 inches for The Ten Commandments and for the Holy Scripture.
Only carbon-black-based permanent inks are used of the "India ink" type. The brands used are Higgins Permanent Black Ink, item 44041 (813) and Speedball Super Black India Ink, product no. 3338.
Drawings may have a border. The border consists of the name of the Book of Scripture by chapter and verse. For example, ... Exodus20:2Exodus20:2Exodus20:2... . The top of the letters of the border are to the outer edge of the work. Border lettering uses a simpler letter style than for the text.

Method of Price Calculation for Calligraphy(Please do not read this section unless you have an overpowering need to understand my price schedule!)
Lower-case letters are half of the price for upper-case letters.
Price is based on the upper-case letter size where size is the area of the letter. The area of a letter is calculated as the number of square eights-of-an-inch.
The height of an upper-case letter in eighths-of-an-inch is "x" times 1/8 inch. A one-inch high, upper-case letter has "x" = 8. That is, it is eight eighths high.
The area of an upper-case letter is "x" times "x". For the one-inch high, upper-case letter, "area" = 8 times 8 = 64 square eighths-of-an-inch.
The total area for 1-inch high, upper-case letters is the number of 1-inch high, upper-case letters times the area of a 1-inch high, upper-case letter.
The cost for all of the 1-inch high, upper-case letters in a work is the total area times 20¢.
The total area for all of the lower-case letters is the number of lower-case letters times the area of a 1-inch high, upper-case letter.
The cost for all of the lower-case letters in a work is the total area times 10¢.
The lower-case letters described are those for which the upper-case letters are 1-inch high.
The price of the calligraphy is the sum of the costs for all of the letters of all of the sizes.
